How to convert the potential client to lead?
Published: September 15, 2023

We often find that businesses focus all their attention on getting more and more leads, but they neglect the sales process. Converting a generating lead into a client can be really tricky, yet as a business owner, you can do simple steps to guarantee a lead converted to a client! In this article, you will read about useful tips to help you convert a lead into sales.

What to do first?

  • Provide a monetary reward

Offering a free gift or a limited-time discount is a great way to encourage leads to convert. The discount doesn't have to be extravagant, and the free donation doesn't have to be worth a lot of money. It can be a very simple gift to show a potential client that you care about their satisfaction.

  • Set a “No communication” deadline

To delete unresponsive leads from your marketing funnel, set a "no communication" deadline. “We haven't heard from you in 30 days,” for example. Even though this is our final communication, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.” This will almost always elicit a response, and if it doesn't, it will save your sales team time and effort on a dead lead.

  • Follow-up is easy

A quick follow-up email or phone call asking if your leads have any other questions will also re-engage them in the purchasing process. This is a good way to convert leads into sales quickly and without wasting a lot of time. My company contacts all leads produced through our website right away, and we also follow up with them a few days later, offering to answer any questions they may have. For nearly every industry, a simple follow-up will close a large percentage of leads.

  • Make your email marketing stand out from the crowd

Because it's likely that your leads are also being marketed to by competitors, you'll want to make sure that your emails stand out among the slew of promotional emails that will be inundating their inboxes. Make sure your emails don't read like excessively aggressive and pushy sales letters by including things like fun facts about your business or your local area. Emails that are cleverly written grab the attention of your prospects and make your company stand out.

  • Focus on Solving a problem

Try to connect the services you provide to clients’ needs and always be honest about the information you give about the service or product because according to “Salesforce”: “Prospects are spending more time doing their own research and gathering information from peers and other third parties. 94% of B2B buyers conduct online research at some point during the purchase process, according to an Accenture study.”

Finally, with practice, you will be able to turn most of your leads into clients but always remember to be honest and to put yourself in the client’s shoes to feel his/her pain and try to solve it. With the accessibility of the internet, people search a lot, and this puts on you a heavier load to always improve your service.
